SUNDAY MORNINGS

EVERY SUNDAY

This is a quiet service in a traditional style.

1st SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

10.15am  All-Age Service Everyone worships together in this service, which has a blend of hymns and modern worship songs accompanied by the band.  The talk is interactive; volunteers from the congregation say the prayers.  After the service, there are refreshments to which all are welcome to stay.

2nd, 4th and 5th  SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

10.15am  Parish Communion service using the Common Worship book
People can receive bread and wine or a blessing at the altar. There  are Sunday groups for children 0-10.  Children are in church for the beginning of the service then, after the first hymn, they go to their groups: There is a staffed creche room for 0-3s in church and groups for children age 4-10.  After the service, there are refreshments and all are welcome to stay.

3RD SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

10.15am  ‘THIRD SUNDAY’ Baptisms often take place during this service. THIRD SUNDAY has a stronger theme and a more relaxed style. This service brings all ages together and after the service, we have a bring and share lunch.

SUNDAY EVENINGS

1ST SUNDAY EVENING OF THE MONTH

6.30pm  Iona-Style Holy Communion This a peaceful service of Holy Communion.

2ND SUNDAY EVENING OF THE MONTH

6.30pm  Traditional Sung Evensong using the Book of Common Prayer: This is a reflective service with hymns, prayer, readings, and a talk.

4TH SUNDAY EVENING OF THE MONTH

Exalt

We are pleased that the monthly informal worship Exalt will re-start in January. We shall aim to be people

  • Seeking to come together to glorify God, through creative informal worship
  • Open to the Holy Spirit and his gifts, encouraging one another through mutual sharing

As previously, Exalt will be held on the fourth Sunday of each month. However it will be at 6.30pm (previously it was 7.00pm).

The first new Exalt will be held on Sunday 22 November in St Mary’s. There will not then be one immediately after Christmas, but from 24th January onwards it will be a monthly opportunity to worship God in what we hope will be a creative, informal way.

We hope to see you then.
